Community Engagement Intern

Reports To: Project Coordinator

Position Status: Unpaid Internship

Time Commitment: 15-20 hours per week (Fall semester)

Primary Responsibilities:

Outreach and Education-

  • Assist Komen staff with community health events, including material preparation, volunteer/speaker coverage and necessary follow-up
  • Represent Affiliate at health fairs and speaking events when needed
  • Track and maintain Affiliate volunteer, survivor and care package databases
  • Request in-kind donations from local and national companies for events and fundraising initiatives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 Race for the Cure-

  • Support Komen staff with Race Community Kick-Off in October
  • Research and complete donor profiles using SalesForce
  • Assist with recruitment of local cheer groups and entertainment for Race day
  • Track and maintain Race volunteer database
  • Provide support with website updates and data entry

Position Qualifications:

  • Must need college credit for course requirement
  • Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Must have own personal laptop computer
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Strong time-management, organizational and research skills
  • Must have strong comfort level with public speaking and presentations
