Community Engagement Intern
Reports To: Project Coordinator
Position Status: Unpaid Internship
Time Commitment: 15-20 hours per week (Fall semester)
Primary Responsibilities:
Outreach and Education-
- Assist Komen staff with community health events, including material preparation, volunteer/speaker coverage and necessary follow-up
- Represent Affiliate at health fairs and speaking events when needed
- Track and maintain Affiliate volunteer, survivor and care package databases
- Request in-kind donations from local and national companies for events and fundraising initiatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Race for the Cure-
- Support Komen staff with Race Community Kick-Off in October
- Research and complete donor profiles using SalesForce
- Assist with recruitment of local cheer groups and entertainment for Race day
- Track and maintain Race volunteer database
- Provide support with website updates and data entry
Position Qualifications:
- Must need college credit for course requirement
- Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Must have own personal laptop computer
- Must have reliable transportation
- Strong time-management, organizational and research skills
- Must have strong comfort level with public speaking and presentations
